Above: 1994 Virginia City Hillclimb in the 1985 Audi 4000S quattro. Starting elevation is around 5000' and ends up at 6200' at Virginia City, NV. Highway 341 is closed by the Nevada State Police for this event and is about 45 min north east of where we lived in Lake Tahoe. The 1985 Audi quattro was shod with 195/60-14 Yokohama intermediate tires, rear seat removed and a video camera mounted right behind the passenger seat. Our trap speed was 77mph (compared to the FTOD in Steve Beddor's 964 bodied Ruf CTR @132mph). We ended up getting second place in class right behind Andrew Bennett in a similar Audi 4000S quattro. The Bennett Brothers used race fuel (and melted the cat!) along with removing all the engine accessory belts.
